The Gardens in midwinter

The weather in Victoria is currently showing all the signs of a throwback to the 1970s. I was at high school in Victoria back then, and vividly remember the weeks of unrelieved grey skies and rain "easing to intermittent showers."

In this context, it was great (if a little disheartening - I want to be there!) to receive this photo, fresh off the camera phone from Jem, currently staying at The Gardens. It's a north-eastwards view from the back veranda of The Gardens house.

If you click on the photo to see the larger version, you can even see a boat right on the horizon ...

About the only people who could not appreciate this picture are the surfing crowd, but that's more common to the south. About 500m south. I think even I can walk that!

  1. What a fantastic place to visit with a group of friends! I remember a Winter Retreat there at The Gardens House with The Happy Hookers making rugs together & having a whale of a time. It's a perfect place to feel the sand squeaking in your toes at the bottom of the garden!

  2. I hope the Happy Hookers choose this destination for their Winter Retreat 2012 John.
