The Gardens in midwinter

The weather in Victoria is currently showing all the signs of a throwback to the 1970s. I was at high school in Victoria back then, and vividly remember the weeks of unrelieved grey skies and rain "easing to intermittent showers."

In this context, it was great (if a little disheartening - I want to be there!) to receive this photo, fresh off the camera phone from Jem, currently staying at The Gardens. It's a north-eastwards view from the back veranda of The Gardens house.

If you click on the photo to see the larger version, you can even see a boat right on the horizon ...

About the only people who could not appreciate this picture are the surfing crowd, but that's more common to the south. About 500m south. I think even I can walk that!

Views of The Gardens

Tony and Donna stayed at The Gardens house in March this year and they put together this video of stills they took while staying.

It's a great collection of the sights in the area and has a couple of shot inside the house.

Hope you like it, and many thanks to Tony and Donna for the video.

Music comes back to St Helens

Well, it never really left, but this is worth mentioning. The Bay of Fires Blues on April 24 and 25th.

Tom Richardson is well known now on the mainland and has really been impressing people for the past few years. Annie Piper too, is a young talent who has been making a name for herself.

All credit for Steve at Crossroads Wine Bar for pulling this together. You can get more information at www.crossroadswinebar.com.au
